PSA to all cat owners: Make sure you know what's above your head when picking up a cat!
I went to pick up Esther from under the foozball table and *whack!* smack my head on it as I was standing up. That freaked Esther out and now I have a large scratch down my face. Ow! So now I get to explain to everyone at work tomorrow why I my face is scratched and swollen. :eyes:

1. The first or second night that we had Milk-Chan,
she was still pretty skittish and getting used to the place. She was shut up in the bedroom with us at night. Apparently something spooked her, and the shelter hadn't clipped her talons, and she basically ran up my face to get to the window. In the dark. At 3 am.

I have a nice yet faint double slash scar up the side of my face. Hehe.

I love my cat. :D

6. And don't trip when carrying your cat down the stairs
if the cat is already skittish. Yankee dug a rear claw in to the nearest soft spot, and let's just say it's a good thing I'm not a nursing mother. OW!!!

13. Just general, didn't happen to me.
I've seen stories on the net regarding cats that wait on top of the fridge, for the first passer-by.

SLAM!

14. He was running in place on my inner thigh...
Chaucer was sleeping in my lap when Material Girl made a sudden loud noise across the room. They use those back claws for traction when they run, and I was amazed at how long it took for him to get a good foothold.

Took a long time to get the bleeding stopped too. I almost plastered a maxi pad on my thigh because there was no way to put bandaids over all the scratches and not stick them over another scratch.

Good thing I love that cat.
