Poll question: When you order a pizza, which of the following is most important to you?
If I left out any options, let me know. For me, it's the sauce since I've had sauce on pizza that was either too sweet or too grainy.

1. other...a combination of all things.
i'm sorry, a pizza fails if one of the components is bad.
lousy crust? lousy pizza.
rubbery cheese? lousy pizza.
nasty sauce? lousy pizza.
crappy toppings? lousy pizza.

5. The crust is the single most critical part of a pizza.
Obviously not the most glamorour, but the most important.

It's like a sports car. It doesn't matter how big your engine is, or how good your transmission is, if you haven't got a good set of tires, you haven't got a good car.

Same thing with buns and hamburgers.

7. the crust and the sauce, cheese is kind of hard to screw up. Anyhow all the pizza
here sucks large ones so the only time i ever get is from the supermarket, they have an in house brand that's good, barring that i eat ii when i visit back east. Life os too short for bad pizza. And Pizza hit, i don't what the hell is in that sauce but it gave me the worst agida i ever had in my entire life.

9. I have had pizza where the cheese WAS the problem.
It was the only decent pizza place in Baltimore, but the cheese they used was awful...meaning even they couldn't rise above high end mediocre.

my bil is an Italian food importer and i thought he was going to smack me upside the head when he saw a bag of it in the fridge, needless to say i buy it whole at the deli and shred it myself now.

27. If you are in Chicago, go to Lou Malnalti's (it's a local chain, so it's all over)
If you eat their pizza, you will understand what Pizza Hut was trying to do with their Pan Pizza crust. Of course PH can't pull it off.

13. That it's Monday night
Papa John's here has "Monday Madness": a one-topping medium for six bucks and change. Carryout only, but it's maybe two blocks away.

Alas, the next Monday holiday is Memorial Day. I tried stopping off on the way home from work once, but that whole area gets kind of crowded, and then there was a line. :(

and possibly Boston. Theirs tends toward the oily, though: according to reports, it is poossible to order extra oil, as though it were extra cheese!

22. I like thin crust
This was actually a hard question for me to answer,
and it required some thought! lol

Anyways,my vote was for the crust.

I don't like pizza that is too doughy,so I always order
pizza from places that have the thin crust.

I also like pizza places that don't skimp on the
toppings.

Dominos is my favorite place to order from,
if I were to order pizza.

I don't care about the cheese, because whenever I order a pizza, I order it without cheese. I'm not picky about the sauce either.

36. It's gotta be the crust--
the best pizza I had was at Mamma's (not my "Mamma", that's the name of the restaurant) in Calabria. The crust was thin, light, a little bubbly, cooked through so it isn't mushy or sloppy, but just firm and thick enough to stand up to the toppings. What I didn't get, and which is all too common at bad pizza places here in the states, was bready, dry, or doughy. Luckily, I live in Philadelphia. We have good pizza, you just have to know where to go.
