fucking awesome. BTW, I have no clue what separates clotted cream from butter. Clotted cream seems a bit less tangy (i.e. fresher)

1. Mmm... fish and chips.
Nothing like them in the world.

I'll take English cooking over most American regional cooking any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

And German cuisine is waaaaaay worse than English but it never takes the crap that English cooking does.

4. There's a really great cookbook called
Great British Cooking: A Well-Kept Secret. I cook out of it fairly regularly.

Mmmmm...potato scones.

7. Of course scones are good-- they're Scottish, not English
English cuisine is based on a dare. When I lived there, the best food in England was either Indian or Italian.

9. Yeah, that was my experience traveling there.
Although the pub food tended to be pretty good, assuming one didn't mind dying of cholesterol poisoning at an early age.

11. OMFG
I still dream of the high tea I had the last time I was there--so many years ago! Droooooollll...

There are some gems in English cuisine (mmm...treacle...), and even their famous nasty recipes (boiling water + veggies and/or meat) are going by the wayside. I still dream of the chicken and chestnut pie I had at a fantastic restaurant in the heart of the walled city in York...

13. Scones and clotted cream are great
I don't like their organ and blood and gamey stuff they seem to like so well over there though...One weird thing I saw in England, people eating fries (chips) with a fork.
