My 16 year old Siamese is wearing a cone of shame

because he kept picking at a spot on his leg until the vet said I had to cone him. He is soooooo miserable, I feel like an ogre, although watching him bump into things is kind of amusing in a twisted sort of way

They hate it; we love it, because it keeps them from gnawing a leg off, and in the end, the world is a better place (in our estimation).

But yeah, it's pretty freaking hard. My late girl (Akita) nearly beat herself senseless against my bedpost trying to remove it. But then, she was definitely a short-bus sort of gal. She finally succumbed to the inevitability. Was she happy? Well, nooooo, not that you'd notice or anything LOL. ;-)

But her spay stitches healed because of it, so I consider it the appropriate thing to do. So says me...
