Do you tip a pet groomer?
I took my long haired cat to Petco to be groomed. He is a foster that I am taking care of and he needed grooming but is a bit ornery so I took him to Petco. I groom all my other cats.

Now I am wondering ....should I tip as if it were a hairdresser? I don't know how their pay is based....if they get a salary or depend on tips like hairdressers and waitresses.

1. Call and ask the manager. Most chains don't allow tipping.

4. We tip the groomer, especially the one who gives the tabby cat
a lion hair cut. Getting that little tuft on the tail just right is an art.

Especially if he is ornery. You may be wanting to return...pave the way with gold!

8. I always do.
Our groomer does a great job with our 16 yr old Old English Sheepdog. He has bad arthritis in his back legs and she takes good care of him. She usually has to have her daughter help because he's so big and unsteady. I usually give her at least a $20 tip because it's worth it to me to know that he's treated so gently. He gets groomed about every 3 months and we keep him clipped short because it helps his mobility.

10. The Wiley and Excellent Boy Cat Named Ginger says, "YES, if
you catch a groomer unaware, tip 'em over and run away!"

11. I usually tip...
especially with cats. They can be harder to work with than dogs! (more sharp, pointy bits for the groomer to dodge)

14. wow...
you are the first to ask me that ;-)

It is the NYC Tartan. Somehow, that one feels closer to my heart than my ancestral one from Scotland.

Are you Celtic-American?

13. I tip anyone providing a personal service.
I've beenr refused by the nice kids who take groceries to the car though.

Of course, I'm pretty broke these days so I'm not tipping much of anyone lately :evilfrown:
