Most people think it's too plain for a sandwich, but I find that all of that extra stuff they put on most sandwiches covers up the taste of the really good stuff!

Real genoa salami (not the crap most places call genoa), sharp cheddar cheese, zesty dill sandwich pickles, horse radish mustard and onions with screaming hot Campbell's vegetarian vegetable soup to dip it in. Freakin heaven.

Used to be this hole in the wall sub shop on Mass Ave near the Law School that hands down had the best subs anywhere. Best egg salad I ever ate in my life.

26. There used to be some Cousins shops here

in the Twin Cities and I was a regular and satisfied patron. Genoa salami and the great gyro sub were faves. But all the Cousins are gone now.

Oops, I was wrong. Checked the website and there's still one downtown and a few in the outer burbs. Definitely gettin me a Cousins on my next trip downtown. :)

19. Subway

I normally get a turkey sub,or a veggie sub.

Here in Canada,you can either get a veggie,pizza,meatball,
or cold cut sub for 5 bucks.

And the only one that appeals to me is the veggie,
so I have been eating that a lot lately.

And since I cannot eat a whole 12 inch sub,my friend and I
always split on it.

So for $2.50,it's a pretty affordable meal.

good enough that I have branded my NOLA stream of consciousness the "Parkway Half-Bakery".

Oddly, the only French loaves worthy of top-drawer po'boys are... Leidenheimer's. :shrug:

There are numerous local equivalents for "sub": NOLA po'boy, obviously, Philly/South Jersey hoagie, NYC hero, New England (away from Harvard Square) grinder, etc., etc.

Honey mustard, little bit of pepper, quick squirt of oil and vinegar.

As always, it's incredible how often I'll politely say no cheese and then instinctively the first thing they do is grab the cheese.
