1. Slumdog Millionaire: it'll tide me over until Forrest Gump 2: Gump Again.

2. I liked Slumdog Millionaire,
I thought it was a solid film.

Not as good as Crash, though, and definitely not as good as Milk.

4. To be honest, 'No Country for Old Men' is in a class by itself. It's one of the most deserving...
winners of Best Picture ever. It's almost too good...so good that it's hard to watch. :P

5. Slumdog and Crash are very similar
as far as they're movies that Hollywood thinks it should be honoring. But, to me, they were safe bets.

I can't really speak for this year because I haven't see a lot of the nominees, although I did see Slumdog. But when Crash won I saw every major nominee and Crash, although very good, wasn't even one of the Top 5 movies that year, imo.

But it just seemed to be the movie that Hollywood thought they should honor because of its subject matter.
