2. Yup they slap their lips together and sound like a chicken almost. My cats
do that when they are very excited to see something outside. Just so long as it is not another cat or my little one will start to growling like crazy.

6. My aunt always calls that "charming the birds."
Cats do that for some odd reason when stalking birds. I don't know if they are trying to imitate the sounds the birds make or what, but for some odd reason, it is part of how they stalk birds and it actually seems to help them catch the birds too.

9. My aunt swears up and down it calms the birds.
So, they cat can catch the bird easier. I have noticed cats doing that outdoors while standing very close to the birds and the birds just stay there.

10. Wow. I'll have to watch for that.
Ours also chatter that way at the squirrels. I wonder if it works the same way!

13. Have you ever seen a cat rubbing its chin on a doorframe,
purring, and meowing in a sweet way that seems inviting? It's the same concept. That's what cats tend to do as a luring method.

My aunt used to have a Siamese cat that hated kids. She would do that loving on the door frame thing at my cousin. When my cousin thought it was safe to try to pet the kitty again, my aunt's Siamese hauled off and slapped her. She did it at least once per visit. My cousin fell for it over and over again, because she saw me pet the cat and thought she should be able to pet her too.

I was the only kid that cat liked. Any other kid, she'd do the charming thing and then smack them when they got close. Cats are like that, you know? They'll pretend to be nice in order to lure someone in and then pounce on them. Cats have a sadistic streak a mile and a half wide.
