3. Good morning Heidi
thank you. Even though I didn't take it ... it is something I would have taken myself. :eyes:

Any plans for today?

Btw, Leonard Cohen was in Frankfurt end of last year. I was really thinking about going to his concert. But the tickets were way too expensive for me. €60 upwards.

5. I just got the most beautiful Fleurop bouquet from CMW.
And Ginger gets to play in the box the flowers came in for the rest of the day. Two presents in one!

Oh, my goodness, if I'd known LC was going to be in Frankfurt, I would have probably borrowed money if necessary to go. :swoon: :swoon:

Happy Friday, gf! I'm just gonna play around in the studio all day -- and do my grocery shopping tomorrow. :D

to get something for you AND Ginger

So I should have let you known about it? Darn, sorry. I would have loved to listen to him live too. I just love his voice. I could listen to his songs all day long.

What are you working on at the moment?

9. Well...
I just finished a big dry pastel painting, my first-ever nude, and my first-ever pastel painting. It's in the DU Artists' Group. I'm kinda happy with it and I'm gonna start another one today. :bounce:

Don't worry about Leonard Cohen. He resides in my dreams, even if I never get to see him live in concert.

it is great!!!

How long do you work on such a painting?
I am so bad at art, I have no talent whatsoever to draw something. I was glad that I could chose literature over art in my last school

What is your favorite song by him? Mine? "Take this Waltz" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSWgnSE8A-I

12. Three days, maybe, working off and on?
Unfortunately, I made that one on really cheap sketchbook paper, so who knows how well it will hold up. x(

My favorite Leonard Cohen song today (and it could change tomorrow) is Because Of. It's sooooo lovely and poignant. This is a man who genuinely loves women and what we bring to his life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d-8hxLMOcg

go for a walk in the woods with the dog if the weather is OK.

Every day is a great day since I retired.

I know some people who can't stop working, even though they could moneywise. My former boss is that way.

Might go for a walk myself if the weather is nice enough. Without doggie :)

11. I am quite the opposite - I could have hapily retired at 30 if it
would have been possible. I always have lots of things I love to do and very few of them (like none) involded working for others, but we needed the money and insurance, etc.

Fortunately, I was able to retire at 59, and would never consider working for anyone else again.
I do some painting (see my link to my art webpage, still in the works) after putting my are work on hold for many years because of working a "real" job. I play guitar, etc, for some time every day, read a lot, learn a little more about this computer from time to time, etc.

One of my Social Work professors told our class that she did a lot of work with hospice patients, and she never heard any dying person say they wished they had spent more time at work.

I love my job and even if I had enough money I still would work. Not full time but part time. I don't draw or play music though.

I still have to work 30+ years.

29. Better than the other way around INDEED.
I need to log off now, since I'm scheduled to be at work
bright and early 3:30 tomorrow afternoon.

Since I'm the "New guy" on the management level,
I'm technically limited to "part time" hours...but I found a LOOPHOLE.

"New guy" that I am, I'm still classified as "Management"...
And that means that I can 'fill in' for anyone who wants a day off,
and I can give them permission to take that day off.

So, I'm currently scheduled to work 6 days a week for the next month,
and all the non-Management employees think I'm the best Manager EVER
because I'm filling in for them whenever they ask me to...

Not to mnenion the SERIOUS possibilites for advancement here.
Our UBERmanager has gone off his rocker recenttly;
word has it that he went to one of our sister-stores last week,
chased all the customers out, lined up the employees,
and SCREAMED at them for an hour.

So I reckon it won't be long until he's not with our Organization
any more, and some of us will be moving up a notch.

If he pulls that shit at MY store, I can promise you that he
won't be with our Organization any more.

I take my responsiilities VERY seriously, I am RESPONSIBLE for my my staff
My staff are good people who know their jobs and do them well.

NO ONE verbally abueses my staff when I'm on duty. They deserve respect,
and they'll damn well get it as long as I'm in charge, KnowhutImean?

I look out the window and see WHITE, WHITE, WHITE, WHITE and more WHITE, and the snow plow too. ;)

My presentation went very well. When I got into work, first thing I did was add a few photos to my presentation and changed a little text around. I was really nervous but afterward, while everyone was gathering and chatting, I was told I did a good job. What a relief. Had a lot of information to share and I think I did touch on all the highlights.

Hopefully I don't have to do one of those again for a long time.

I'm not usually up this early... but it is very windy here at the moment.

I don't really TGIF any more, because I have been unemployed for the last 4 months now and every day seems like the same day... no work to do and lots of reading.

Plans for the weekend, none really. I may get a phone call from my family in Italy.

Do have yourself a great weekend!

64. That Europe country has some perdy spots!
hehe. Thanks for always sharing the views with us.

All is well in NC. A slow mountain rain and the temp isn't too bad.

My sourdoough bread experiment is working! I have bread in the oven as I type this. I hope it hurries; I have to get to work on time.

Rhere is one ball of pre-rise dough in fridge and I'll have a ball of risen dough left over. I planned to make cinibuns but.. silly me forgot to check my brown sugar supply. I'll get some while I'm out.

Have a super day!

:*

:hi: :loveya:

It is a picture I would take too. I love look-throughs. It talks about a sculpture. Can't read the other stuff either.

I have to say Good bye already, I am leaving work now :)

It was good to see you though ... at least your writing.
Have a great weekend!!!

:loveya:
