Need lounge opinion
Mrs. OBD, the kids & I went to the church fish fry. While waiting in line, helpful friendly K 0f C members put a plastic cup in your hand and keep refilling it with beer. When you get to the beer booth, they ask for a donation. I gave $5, and I had about 2.5 cups.

Too high? Too low?

I wish they'd just pick a suggested donation, but I asked, and they won't throw out a number.

1. What you paid is fine....
they ask for a donation.....there is no set price so it's all good! How big were the cups though?

3. What kind of beer?
I mean if it was Miller/Bud then I think you did really well by them. If it was Sierra Nevada, they may have gotten hosed.

:P

6. Miller Lite
Ironically, provided by a restaurant that brews its own beer. Go figure?

4. Beer at church?
I'm not judging, just saying around here they don't do that. We are so deprived. :P

Five bucks was probably good. Sounds good to me.

7. Ma'am, I'm guessin' you grew up in the South, maybe?
It was a new concept to me too. Mrs. OBD is Catholic; I'm not. As I learned, pretty quickly, they don't have any objections to drinking in the Catholic Church. What we learned after moving here from Florida is that it goes double in Omaha. They have a lot of Church social functions here, and they all involve beer and wine.

Kinda cool and kinda sad: due to the economic downturn, our parish has been slammed with requests for financial assistance for kids sending their kids to the church school. So, next week, they are holding a 21-and-up-only Chili Cook Off with admission, raffle and bar proceeds going to raise money for the school.

9. Your church sounds like it rocks!
Now, that is cool. :)

Yeah, I'm from a little place called Rockingham, NC. It's not too open like that. I wish it was. If it helps people, then it's a good thing, imho.

I love chili too. That sounds really great. I wish I could go now. :)
