Did you see this coming? Rihanna and Brown back together...
I know they're young, and people make mistakes, but I just don't get why women (or men) stay with partners who are abusive. I sure hope they are both getting some counseling.

1. The abused goes back to the abuser.
I f*****g HATE that!

I'm not much into the younger generation of singers, but Rihanna is simply gorgeous.

2. It seems to be the trend among the abused.
I hope he really gets the help he needs. Because it will be the next woman he is with that he will be abusing. Hopefully he is young enough to really be able to change.

As for her, I hope she will be ok. A lot of people will blame her for going back. But most women do. She is no exception just because she is famous and has money. I just hope her younger fans (and older fans for that matter) don't look at this behavior as something they should tolerate.

3. Cycle of abuse. I hope she doesn't need 10 or 20 more years to make her a believer in the bullshit
of abuse.

7. To hell with counseling
They should throw Brown in jail. If I beat the shit out of Rihanna, do you think they'd let me walk around free the next week?

8. Depends a lot on what the investigation determines.
Type of injuries and so forth. As this would be his first offense, with no other criminal record, if the investigation determines misdemeanor charges are warranted he will most likely get probation and counseling. Same for anybody else.

It just highlights the inadequacy of our laws pertaining to this issue.

9. You're right, of course. Dammit!
Still, if I--an average schlub--slugged a celebrity, I'm sure I'd get slapped with something a little more stern than "don't do that again."

11. You most definitely would. He needs some jail time along with
serious counseling so he can get his anger under control and learn to deal with it in a nonviolent way.

10. I have seen this before... some women stay in and seek out abusive relationships.
Edited on Sat Feb-28-09 04:43 PM by Lost in CT
I have witnessed it too many times not to recognize the sad truth... It often takes two partners to make a relationship abusive.
