Eating into the phone...
This is such a major pet peeve of mine...

...when you're on the phone with someone and you can hear them chewing...

... and they keep talking.. and chewing... and doing it simultaneously. And this will be a time when THEY have called me... but even if it was the other way around and I had inadvertently called while they were eating.. they could either stop for a minute or just say "I'm eating, call me back"

Actually, the sound of people eating has always been really annoying to me...phone or not.

Is it just me?

I usually drop the hint nicely as I can.. "Ya wanna call me back when you're done eating?"... trying to put it in a nice way like I want to give them a chance to eat. :)

1. G'day Heyo
You must'nt have recieved the memo, all pet peeves are under the title "I have a pet peeve..." and should be someway offensive to the original pet peeve :-)

Ok, sorry about that. Better now.

It's not just you. There are at least two of us.

Eating into the phone is even worse than speaking to my parents on the phone when they decide to move the conversation off between themselves, even though I'm only speaking to one of them. Know what I mean? If you do, you'll realise how much I agree with you :-)

2. Eating is second....
First has got to be someone belching into the phone.

3. actually....
There are worse things. My last job, I worked as a customer service rep for a company (CONVERGYS) that Comcast outsources to. One call that I had, the guy sounded all echo-y like he was in the bathroom. He said hold on, heard the flush..thinking geez couldn't you wait to call until after 'nature calls'?

5. Cuold have been the dude spent 30 minutes on hold,
and couldn't hold the need to go the bathroom.

I've had that happen to me. DOn't want to give up one's spot in the queue, and sometimes the need to use the bathroom becomes quite strong, so one goes in the hopes in that the call WON'T be answered while one is in there...

6. I suppose,
But I would have flushed after hanging up...I'm just glad I didn't hear the old 'waterfall' sound. :-)

4. Nope, not just you
When people do that to me, I say "I can tell you're busy with your meal, so I'll call you back later."

I also hate when people are chewing gum while on the phone.
