Do you respond to help wanted ads that request "smiling faces"?
Grrrrrr. Those ads are a red flag to me coz they usually mean We Abuse While You Smile at $7.00 Per Hour. I can't believe there are still retail stores offering $7 per hour!!!!!

2. My fee is much higher when I'm required to feign a smile.
So, I guess my answer is "Nope." :hi:

6. If it represented the different between
cat food for Ginger and no cat food for Ginger, I'd probably grin, hate it and turn away prospective customers in droves simply by the hateful glint in my eye, but I'd do it. We've all got a price, my sweet, and mine is the ability to buy cat food. CMW and his opposable can fend for themselves. I love 'em both, but I am not jokin' here.

But I can't do the mountain and smile. By that I mean, working a ski mountain.

12. Oh, honey. That's a whole other thing.
I was managing editor of a business journal in a very conservative ski resort town, where swallowing with a smile was a priority. I'd do it again, I'd guess, but only for Ginger. And ONLY for Ginger.

"enjoy working in a fast paced environment". That means be prepared to be taken a half step beyond your physical and emotional limit.

14. Better than "hiring smiles"
I'll just send my teeth, while the rest of me stays here and surfs the web, okay?

Unfortunately, my dentist disagrees. God knows I've tried to talk her into it.

must be "energetic" team player AND self-starter AND "thrive" in a "fast-paced environment". Welcome to the sweat shop...

24. My daughter in California has noticed "college attitude" popping up in ads.
Also, some studio want ads are turning regular jobs into "paid internships."

Both say the same thing: we want young workers, right out of college, who will work long hours and don't need too many benefits and probably either live at home or have several roommates and no pesky kids that get sick...well you get the picture.
