What would be the opposite of "jumping the shark"?
One of my favorite computer sites (Gone Gold) is trying to figure out what the phrase would be for when a bad (or mediocre) show gets better, instead of "jumping the shark" which is when something good goes bad.

The only ones I can think of would be "bringing in a Sheridan" (off of Babylon 5) and "Getting rid of Wesley" (Star Trek: NG).

(And yes, I know the actor who played Wesley is a real upright Liberal. Back off, ok? ;-) )

This isn't a contest on the site, just something that we're trying to figure out.

Anyone here have any suggestions?

For making a good show great-Bringing in Waterston (reference to Sam Waterston replacing Michael Moriarty on Law & Order).
