Sexism in a Brazilian newspaper
So I'm casually browsing the sports section of a Brazilian newspaper (dead tree) and there's a short blurb noting the percentage of women athletes in the Brazilian delegation* to the AThens Olympics is the highest in history -- 44%. Mmmkay. Now, what's the blurb's title?

"Abundance of lipstick in Athens"

Argh. Double argh. :puke:

*is that the correct term? (meaning the collection of athletes going to represent a particular country at the Olympics)

3. For some odd reason, that particular form of sexism fails to outrage me...
Wonder why? O8)

6. Actually, we're more enlightened than most people think
at least in the big cities. I'm pretty sure I'll see LTTEs complaining of that title.

But, as M.A.T.C.O.M. much eloquently pointed out, there's this thing about scantily clad dancing young women we can't seem to shake off.
