Time to share the GOOD news

I don't know if any of you remember, but back in November, I found out that my son was in some trouble. He had been skipping school, and was failing most of his subjects.

Yesterday, my son came home with a mid-term report. He's on the honor roll.

I'm so happy and proud that I could bust a gut. :bounce:


We're going to celebrate next week with a very special dinner, including one of his favorite aunts. :party: :party: :party:

If he can get his room to a reasonable state, I'll give him his collectable cards back (that is the one last thing he had left to earn back after I took EVERYTHING away from him last November).

Let's hope he can maintain this. I'd hate to see him through any opportunities away--and bad grades have a way of doing that.

7. Tell us what you did! My daughter has been driving us nuts all her

school career. She would do crazy things like do the homework, but not turn it in. My wife and I are ready to tear our hair out.

10. Got him into therapy

He claims he wasn't sleeping, so I worried about anxiety.

But I also took away EVERYTHING... no TV, VCR, DVD, CD player, no collectible cards, no video games.

If he didn't have time for school, he didn't have time for those things. As he put more and more effort into his school work, I let him earn those things back. He wasn't allowed to stay on the ROTC drill team.

He's still in therapy, and I think I'm going to keep him there, even if it's just once a month.

realize we should have sent our daughter! Thanks for the info. My daughter is now a senior in high school so I guess we missed the boat.

reading above grade level; he was damn near failing first grade 3 months ago!
