Poll question: Dish Network Customers: Viacom fracas - keep or dump
If you have Dish network, are you going to change providers because of the Viacom situation?

5. i just ordered my directtv system!
I'm actually paying less than with dish, and with more actual channels, because i get to opt out of faux sportsnet...
and i'll probably get over $200 for my equipment and smart cards on e-bay

Thanks charlie- you hypocrite asshole, you just fucked yourself out of one long-term high-paying customer.

3. This happened with DirecTV
about 6 or 7 years ago. It was resolved within a few days and I don't think consumers got hit too hard out of it.

I am sitting on the sidelines for a week and will decide what I want to do then.

7. Not sure yet
We had directv but changed after Murdoch took the reigns. Paid a little more with Dish -but- we are getting 4 receivers and one of them is a PVR (tivo) so we were happy. But I gotta tell you, I am beyond pissed. I don't really give a rats ass whose fault it is. I feel that the customers are put into the middle and both company's are acting like asses. You go to Viacoms website and get hit with who to contact at dish and you go to dish and get all the contact info for all the channels. Well excuse me but they need to handle this like adults and work it out. Every person in my household is affected by this from my son who isn't in school yet who lives for his Blues Clues fix, my teens who love South Park, and I need my Daily Show dammit! If it's 6 freaking cents they want I'll personally send it to them. I don't want their crappy dollar discount - I WANT my channels back! If they can afford to discount my bill by a dollar, how come they can't come to terms with this somehow? I live in the middle of BFE, I don't have the luxury of cable, so for me it's either Directv or Dish. I would prefer to stay with Dish but if they aren't going to offer what I want then I will have to go back to Directv.

/end rant

Sorry everyone, I'm done. I will now go back to my quiet self.

8. Amen Sister!
My son's entire day was F-ed up because he couldn't get his Blues Clues / Dora fix. My evening is going to be ruined because I can't get my Jon Stewart.

I agree with you. I don't care whose fault it is. I'd pay an extra $10 a month to keep my three year old happy.

9. Here's An Alternative Satellite Network... "VOOM"
It has fewer channels, but many more are high definition than Dish or Directv.
