3. I was walking into the supermarket the other day, and a little Girl Scout

asked me if I wanted to buy some cookies. I said an emphatic 'yes', whipped out my three bucks, and took a box on the spot. I told the Troop Mother (or whatever you call the ladies in charge) that they were boycotting GSC in Texas, and that I would do my part to undermine it. Felt good. Buying cookies for not one but TWO good causes!

I always buy a bar, and then give it to the sales-kids to eat. It's a way to support the cause without consuming the calories.

around the block. Drink seltzer water. Lift weights. Drink water.

I'm saying this because the desire for something sweet can often be confused with the real desire to drink.

Why did you buy them in the first place? The temptation would be too much for me. I can't keep anything like that in my house, especially the thin mints.

My solution for you. Just go ahead and eat them. You know you will eventually anyway. Why prolong the agony?

who are torturing you. That's MUCH harder.

At one of my jobs, there is a counter where they spread out the communal food: cake, cookies, candy, etc. My desk is right behind that counter so I can see and smell whatever is brought in. It's almost as if they are taunting me.

She is a Girl Scout leader and when it's time to sell cookies, she has about 600 boxes in her living room.
