Poll question: It's March 10th - are your Income Taxes completed yet?
Just did mine today! I'm getting a nice chunk of change back and even $90 from the state of Delaware (go figure - I donated $10 of it to the Veteran's Home Fund since Bush obviously won't donate any money to our Veterans).

So do you have your taxes completed yet?

8. Not for a couple years at laest...like 5.
Then they will send you this sedate little eltter informing you that you didn't file, then you go round and round on it for a while...eventually you pay or go to jail, but not for a few years.

Would getting an extention help you out?

11. I don't know...
I thought you had to pay on time even if you filed an extension. It's rather embarrassing, but paying rent and buying food on unemployment don't leave any extra:)

13. Yer supposed to.
But, unless it is heaping great wadges of cash that you owe, they might let you slide. Ask an accountant or even the IRS. AS long as you are up front about it they are actually pretty cool. Might also ask if, since you are still unemployed, if there is a waiver you can get.

14. tax refund?
I've done my federal taxes, but haven't sent them in because I OWE money. Tax cut my ass.

I've put off doing state taxes, because I always owe the state more than the feds.

26. I DId Mine Online Last Weekend
http://www.taxact.com/

They have a deluxe software package you can buy, or a bare-bones system you can either download for free or use on their secure server. I've used them for the past few years and have been very happy with them.

It cost me a grand and glorious $15.90 to e-file my federal and state returns - my refunds should be deposited into my savings account sometime next week.

28. Just did 'em yesterday.
I was pleasantly surprised that I only owed about $200 - and I will get a refund of $190 from state taxes. Of course I immediately mailed in the state return, and will hold fed till much closer to the date.

33. Getting a wee refund from the feds.
Naturally, mailed that in right away. Still waiting on the check.

The $ from the feds, plus about another $15, is what we owe the state of Georgia. Naturally, that'll get mailed on April 15th.
