I have developed a bit of chafing in a delicate area during this week's bike commuting. Not even recumbent cyclists are immune to the effects of skin, sweat, and friction although we have it better in terms of seat comfort compared to people riding those ridiculous upright bikes. Wanting to give the skin a bit of time to recover before the ride home, I grabbed a little bottle of lotion ("Arbonne Herbal Foot Cream") given to me by a co-worker some time ago. Closing my office door, I applied the lotion to my manly bits.

A few seconds later....AAAAAGH! It burns! Turns out this crap has menthol or eucalyptus or something in it. I am in agony with a fire raging in my crotch. Some frantic kleenex scrubbing does nothing (did I mention the chafed skin??) but make it worse.

I saunter as nonchalantly as I can to the only bathroom with a lockable door, and a moment later I am teabagging the corporate bathroom sink while applying water and soap. And I mean the original meaning of the term, not the bizarro-world GOP definition. Ahhhhhh. Some more teabagging and a warm water rinse. That's better.

Digging around my desk drawers after regaining my composure (and clothing) I found a tube of Eucerin. That does the trick.
