"Mold Days" is that what we are faced with now environmentally? Mold.....

Yuck! Ugh......the mold is growing everywhere......on the roof of my house on the walls...the trees drip with mold yuck......I haven't seen Spring....I haven't seen Summer.....there's no "breeze" the squirrels aren't active....the birds are lethargic...and they are ripping down all of my new shopping centers and replacing them with new shopping centers.

Kids aren't playing on those big "custom outdoor gyms." They ignore them to stay inside with their "puter games." I see trucks all over my neighborhood with "Custom Home Theater Design....audio/video" on their trucks and they do their "silent work" in an out of our neighborhood houses bringing in plywood, windows, acoustics, carpet.
And, everyday the tropical rains come .......in a state that isn't tropical.........and the mold just keeps growing everywhere and the damp....and lack of breeze is stifling......and I wonder......Where was Spring and where is Summer........and when will Fall come...and if it comes will the "mold/damp" thing still be here.....and it reminds me of graveyards and tombstones.....this mold and damp.

And, they say there isn't "Global Warming" and the "Weather Channel" has been taken over by RW Elves who procreate 24/7!

And, .....I think of kids growing up today.....who will never know the difference.....because who will tell them?

2. Vacation in Kansas
I got just under 1/2 inch of rain last night. That makes almost 3/4 inch since the first of July and it has been so terribly hot until just today. Avg.July temp was 95. I could go to your house and you could come to mine.

Your situation reminds me of Hilo, Hawaii where everything is always covered in moss. Where are you?

4. Piedmont, NC where just 5 years ago there were breezes and Summer was hot
in August....but much cooler than in SC, GA, and FL, ALA, and LA. Our climate has changed radically.

One could smell the pine trees and the squirrels were collecting Dogwood fruit and one could weed the flower beds and sit out on one's porch and cook out. No one goes out and does that stuff anymore....where I am.....and last year we were in a drought and it was Hot and humid and the mold still grew off the damp and humidity......in a drought.

Now we don't have a drought...we have flooding rains which are tropical (FLA, Jungle, Brazil, Rainforest) type rains. Where one gets up in the morning and can't see out of one's windows because the vapor has caused them to fog over.......and by the afternoon the sun comes out and then the clouds fill up and the tropical dripping begins and sometimes it's inches of rain like in the tropics......and this isn't normal....it's weird.

Just like London and Paris with temps over 100 degrees this Summer. Records set. It isn't normal./

Is Kansas normal for this time of year?

7. Our weather has been
very strange too. I wasn't a big weather watcher when I was growing up or as a young adult but the last 10 years I have had a farm and I do watch it closely. We do not have winter anymore. It will get really cold - 0 temps for a week or so and we might have a snow or two but usually they are small. It used to get cold and stay cold and snow inches frequently. My brome grass stays green most of the winter now. We have had spring rains but it stays cool longer then it get hot and stays that way. I don't have the data but the comfort index was in the 110's a lot of July. We used to have contests in August to pick what day it would hit 100. We almost got there in May. Usually we get a summer bake but usually we have had more rain than we have the last bunch of years. VERY few real storms, hardly any the last 5 years, possibly longer. Really, I guess I would say that you just can't tell what it is going to do but that it is not going to be like it was before. It scares me. I am having to feed hay already and usually I don't start that up until October. There is no grass left.

I will have to look at a map. Anywhere close to Brevard? I spent the best summer of my life at music camp there.

9. Brevard is beautiful....No I'm close to the Triangle.
Our Crepe Myrtles are blooming in July when they used to bloom in August. All kinds of odd things. Good to hear you've noticed changes on your farm. I often wonder if other people notice the changes like I do.

6. I would love to give you some rain
we had two summers of drought before this year and all the lawns were brown. My plants were all burnt and no matter how much I watered them they would not stop withering and dying. I really don't know which is worse.

5. my flowers keep putting out new buds that die ...........
before they even open, they just kind of rot and get mushy. My trees have moss rain coats on. The squirrels are biting each other in annoyance. I'd like to see Mars tonight, there are no clouds, but the fog is so think from todays rain that I can barely see the moon. My skin is slimey from the damp and I haven't worn sun glasses in a week!

8. And Seattle has had two days of rain all summer
It's hot here too. In the high 70s-80s which is hot to us especially if it's for more than two days in a row.

Yesterday, I heard on the news that London had the highest temp ever recorded there. 100 degrees.

Even the Pope was praying for rain.
