I was such a worried mess every time I was pregnant, I couldn't take it. I had so many (insignificant now) issues with all of them, I don't think my mental health could take it.

Not that it's anything to write home about as it is.

But seriously, I did play in a band right out of college. We opened for none other than Bruce Springsteen at Toad's Place in New Haven, CT.

I DO have pics, but they were my moms and my controlling SIL put all of my mom's things in storage when she passed and well, you know how that goes...

Keyboards and I was the front person. It was great. Until the playing in the bar thing all night long started to interfere with the teaching high school all day long thing. Kind of impossible to teach high school when you are

A: Exhausted from getting home one hour before you need to get up.

B. Hungover.

Even though we made great money, it became too much and as much as I loved, loved, loved it, I really wanted to teach. I really wanted to make a difference.


Funny thing, too, because I lived in CT and there was a Toad's Place (downtown New Haven, next to the famed Morey's (sp?) and Yorkside Pizza. Morey's is where the Yale Whiffenpoofs would sing.

ANd, then I moved here to VA and there's a Toad's Place downtown Richmond. Weird.

17. Yup. The entire gang. He was so nice to us, it was amazing.

We opened for several other 'big names' like Beaver Brown, etc. (On the Darkside...one hit wonder) and they weren't as nice.

Bruce and Clarence were really nice to us. Sticks out in my mind all these years ago, that's how nice they were.
