I just got back from lunch to find a notice that I need to attend a meeting TODAY at 4-5 pm. I'm exhausted--someone even commented to me that I looked sick. Fuck..I'm so worn out that I'm going to be useless at this damn meeting-which also knowing who called it means I'll probably be leaving here closer to 6pm..I can get all I need from this meeting from slides and emails too...:banghead:. Then I find out they are fishing for volunteers to come in Sunday so we can meet a deadline Tuesday. Sorry..but I need my rest after all the running around I've done lately! Christ. :banghead:

Any manager will tell you that's a waste of time. Nobody wants to be there, and any questions that need to be asked won't be for fear of extending the meeting any longer.

I'm the only one in our group with alot of billable hours (tech consulting). I was able to shave off 6 hours from 80. I just can't leave the clients high and dry, especially the one that I brought in last year. If I screw the clients now, then what happens if the company goes belly up in a couple of months. I want to keep all my options open.

I am also the only one that has the background to support these clients. Job security, i guess.

One trick that usually seems to work for me when I am somewhere besides where I really want to be -home- I think about how good it'll feel to go home; that initial feeling of "Aaaaah, goodbye clothes." I partially daydream about it. It makes time go by quicker, slightly.

That's still cruel and unusual punishment for anybody to call a meeting that late on a fucking FRIDAY. I'd wait until whoever called the meeting forgot about their transgression, find pictures of them and pencil a thin mustache on their upper lip just to get the message across. :evilgrin:

And yes, I should be grateful that I have a job (and its quite clear from today I have PLENTY of work ahead) but sometimes...
