My Uncle moved in last summer and there has been a lot of activity going on around here and my Grandparents just eat it up. Dogs, cats, kids. Between my Uncle and I there is something going on pretty much all day.

I try to be as polite and respectful to everyone, regardless of their politics, their religion or even their weather. Granted, I'm quite often unsuccessful at it, but I do keep trying.

It's helped me out quite a bit, too. Twenty years ago I would have been astounded at the amount of trouble I could have avoided simply by being nice, even if it wasn't responded to in kind-- but then again, twenty years ago I wasn't a very nice guy.

It's a rarity for me in the here and now to allow myself to become frustrated or annoyed by someone's actions or words, and even that will usually elicit no more than polite, "thank you for your perspective-- I'll allow it all the consideration it's due..." followed by a quick exit. :)
