Don't Say Something Nice About A Fellow DU'er, Say Something Nice About DU'ers In General!

like we all have differing opinions about things and we all don't always agree; sometimes people get nasty with each other, but in the end, we are all people of minds that are more alike than different. We aren't locksteppers like the right wing is. We have the true big tent in fact. We have people that are pro and con many issues that the right tries to use to define us with.

We don't always agree with our leaders because guess what? Freedom came with a heavy price and it includes the right to dissent!

We don't bash democratic candidates, however we can have disagreements with those in office without being "against them".

I like DU because it has given me an outlet for my frustration for the nightmare years of the shrub and Darth Cheney, and it continues to give me an outlet for my frustration with both the right, and sometimes the left. However, I remember again, that freedom of speech is what makes this country great. Of course DU has rules and we follow them. They are to keep us from all out war against ourselves at times which is downright unproductive.

So tell us what you like about DU and DU'ers!!!!

1. Glad someone made a thread like this because they are too numerous to mention.

There is always someone here at DU to reach out to you, regardless of what your issue might be.

There are so many kind, compassionate people here.

It would be impossible to name only one; my list would be potentially endless.

I love this place. It has been so helpful to me over the past year.

2. This place is unlike anyplace I've ever been...

I've never met so many good, talented, smart people in one place...

My life has been enriched beyond measure by being here!

That's how I see DU and its residents.

3. DUers bring a lot of diverse knowledge and information to the forum and I appreciate that.

And the Lounge*, Gardening, Cooking & Baking, and other special topic forums have some of the nicest people anywhere.

4. DU is like the pulse of the thinking part of the nation. When I log on I see all topics

covered and do not need to read a newspaper (though I still do).
