Lip-syncing doesn't really bother me. So many singers do it that I usually assume the person is lip-syncing unless proven otherwise. There was just something missing from the performance. There was no excitement. Plus, the song isn't very good.

I thought his voice was just OK, but now that I see how self-congratulatory and chatty he seems to be with the judges, he just turns me off.

He has the dead wife and the clean cut Christian thing going. I wouldn't be surprised if he advances farther than Adam.
