Why I will see 'Star Trek'
http://www.411mania.com/movies/film_reviews/103932/Star-Trek-Review.htm

Khan and Undiscovered Country are mentioned...

Enough is said to really make me think this might be a good movie - and what I've seen so far is just whiz bang populist-drivel bull shit.

1. It was actually good.
I thought I was going to hate it. Even with the the whole changing of the timelime thing. It was a good story and a lot of fun.

2. A clever way to reboot and still let us old fans have "our" history.
As long as there's a shred of Roddenberry's ideals (and he was more an ideal person than a story teller), I'll be happy. :)

6. Yes. the alternate timeline thing was done very well
It allowed me to accept what happens in the movie on its own merits without worrying that it's screwing up the canon.

It's really very good. I was prepared to dislike Kirk because I thought he looked like an extra from 'The Hills,' but I was very impressed with his performance. The movie looks gorgeous, but there's more to it than that.

7. I saw it tonight.
It is just so uplifting experience.

Then I heard today's Obama's announcement about new educational help for unemployed.

Sometimes, Hollywood reflect what may come soon.
People, let's get inspired for future.
We are rebooting.

The biggest surprise was Kirk. Quite honestly, I was more of STNG fun not original Kirk.
Let's see. I am a woman with ph.d in Math. Some of Kirk's actions are not very appealing.

This time, they made it right without offending original fun.
Though I did not like original Kirk much, I do like and respect Spock.
The movie served him right.

The new time has began, less materialistic, more future forward, science and
the final frontier.

This is why I came to U.S and left Japan behind.

Right now, I am a financial planner. I could not stay in academia because I graduated
in the worst job crunch. I am no longer young but I am thinking about future again beyond
make a good living for my family.

I will go to see this movie again and I will buy DVD.
Yes, with this reboot, they can make any story they want.
Kirk can marry and have a kids and go star-trek together.
Ha, ha..

Just my thought,

Hertopos
