In the story, he even manages to find a female version of himself in an alternate universe. I'm still not quite sure how he managed to find that particular universe since for the whole of the book he's only traveling back and forward in time with himself. It's a really twisted book and would make for an interesting movie, once audiences got past the concept of having yourself as your best and only lover :P
