But you know what? I just realized that when we talk on the phone, she's always quoting from commercials, commercials that it takes me months to notice, if I even notice them at all.

I have bipolar and agoraphobia and often say I am busy because I am to embarrassed to say I'm scared or sick......not saying this is the case with your friend.....but there are reasons why people say they are busy when they are not....

I'm just laughing a little in thinking that I've been trying to get together and she's always saying "busy" and I finally realized that in all these conversations she'll always mention or quote the latest tv commercials.

I'm not upset about it, I don't think she is, it's just something I finally put together.

yes, i totally respect and accept that people will say "busy" for a bunch of reasons and that's their call and it is better than "i don't want to be around you" and it's also their choice if they don't want to share that they stay in because of depression.

but in this case (we have mutual friends) she is getting out quite a bit and keeping a busy schedule of fun and work. i'm just reading the writing on the wall here i guess.

so if she gets an hour or two to herself she just wants to sit on the couch and veg out for awhile instead of having somewhere else she has to run to, that's the way I feel lately anyway.

i don't know what the deal is but i can handle not knowing.

she actually does have a busy life, but after a couple times trying to get together, the last time she suggested a few weeks later, so i called and maybe it was bad timing but then she told me (in April) that May looks bad (we live 7 miles apart). so i said, "am i going to remember you when we finally get together?" and she said, "oh i'm sure you will."

I have no idea what is going on, but I can tell you that I am really avoiding my friends lately, and it's just insecurity, insomnia, anxiety and so many bad things going on in my life.

And it worries me that they will take it personally. The truth is, I feel weak, and I feel terrible for not keeping up friendships. I love them and miss them, but I just don't have what it takes to communicate with them right now. Life hurts too much, or something.

And it is not personal.

That is just my case, and your case could be totally different.
