14. Had a computer scare tonight....
but all it was was a false alarm, thank goodness. I am a work-at-home paralegal - and a newbie at the firm. Just about had a panic attack when my monitor bit the dust. :scared:

All else is good. Good health; good kids; good man.

Cheers to you, sweetie - and don't be such a stranger to us Loungies, okay? I love having your words to read around these parts! :toast:

22. Ewwwwwww........
Computer screwups are happening everywhere. I had this desktop go weird on me with McAfee Security Suite. The sucker won't update. Now I have to find a good FREE virus protection program - I've had it with Norton and McAfee. Enough, already.

I post all over, baby. Last night, I made some people nuts because I wondered why they were believing that "that awful woman" had "seduced" John Edwards. You and I both know that grown men are always under the control of those "other women," don't we? And the man has ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OVER WHAT HE DOES.

It's all her fault, right?

So, the monitor was just screwy? Not dead?

Don't you hate that panicky feeling that hits when the computer starts going off on you? Jesus, are we dependent!!!

32. First things first.....
FREE virus protection program:

AVAST. It's wonderful. Highly recommended. Hope that helps.

John Edwards - in short, HE fucked up - so to speak. ;)

My monitor bit the dust; luckily I had a backup. I hooked the sucker up, and everything was back to normal. My computer HAS to be nearing its last days, though; it's five years old - living on borrowed time. My laptop died last month. I guess it's time to spend yet more money. *sigh*

I've always done a pretty good job of looking at the bright side of life - but when my job is on the line, that's extremely difficult to do. :scared:

You total DOLL! Thank you very much!

(Wasn't that easy, Tangerine?

Yes, yes, she's so nice, that sweet girl!)

Yeah, John did it, and that "other woman" wasn't the first, I'll bet. He always had that hound look on him, at least to me.

The good thing is that monitors are so cheap now. But, still, who wants to spend the money if you don't have to. Laptop, TOO!???? Oh, man, why do these things always happen in clusters, like cold sores?

I've gotten really good deals through Dell's site, their reconditioned laptops. But, hey, I hate to spend money, so I know all these good deal places.

Yeah, we can handle it if we can't log onto DU - life goes on - but when it's your work, no, life does NOT go on.

I'm glad it's ok, and I'm doubly glad that you're smooth and mellow - but, hey, that's your trademark, no?

53. John, John, John.....
Good-looking and powerful guy. And somehow, with all those smarts, he doesn't use his brain when he needs it most. Ah, well. It's not the first time a politician has done this, and I'm sure it won't be the last. It's all part of the job description. :P

As for Dell....Dell has been good to me. They are first on my list to check out for deals. :)

About my "trademark"....I'm not sure. I've been described many times as "carefree", "free spirited", "bubbly", "handles well under pressure". I will try to maintain that image for as long as I can. To be the opposite of these traits would ruin me - so I will do my best. ;)

Great talking to you tonite, sweetie. Hope to see you again soon!

24. It's a great, great beer -
I grew up just a few miles from the brewery, which was like a second home during high school (they gave free tastes when you took the tour, age no consideration - we took lots of tours), so it was always the beer of choice in our little corner of the world. But, one day, in a store in San Francisco, more than 20 years ago, I saw Yuengling Black and Tan in the "gourmet beer" section. I almost died laughing.

It is good, the best beer in the US, as far as I'm concerned.

It's Coleman's fault, believe me. This is the kind of evil thing that GOPigs do ..............................................

Smirnoff was the standard for years. When I am drinking on someone else's dime (say, at a hi-fi show) it is ALWAYS Grey Goose, but at $35/liter it is beyond this boy's expense account. The difference isn't nearly as great in terms of taste as in terms of price.

So, I have a bottle of Fris in the fridge - it does the job. ;)

My wife left for L.A. this morning. She'll only be gone for the weekend, thank God. When she's gone longer than three days or so, I feel like slitting my throat...

My dad went into hospice this afternoon, with no hope of pulling through this time. He's a tough old buzzard, but it looks like he's had his day...

I'm just relying on my DU friends to see me through my pity-party without judgement or condemnation...

Was all that spelled correctly? The room is starting to spin...

78. Plain ol' cheap black tea ( the teabagger's favorite brand)
