I was dog tired this morning, but somehow, I'm wide awake right now. Oh well, that's what weekends are for, right?

It'd be neat if I had some royalty along the line somewhere, but AFAIK I'm just related to a bunch of dirt farmers  My family's been in the US for so long it's hard to say, though. Genealogy is something I'd really like to get into if I had the time, energy, and money. Maybe someday...

Have you ever been to Ireland or Great Britain? I took this pic of a high Celtic cross in Ireland last year:

44. Beautiful pic! I've been there!
You're a handsome fella, and you look right at home in the rugged Highlands!

I was lucky enough to be able to spend 6 months last year in the UK, so I took as many opportunities as I could to travel. I lived in London and Cambridge, and took tours through the Scottish Highlands, Ireland, and Cornwall. I also made it to Berlin and Denmark. I got back about 6 months ago and I'm going into hardcore withdrawal. There are some cheap airfare deals to the UK right now, but I just can't justify the expense. I hope I'll be able to set aside enough over the next year to splurge and go back sometime next year. I live in Illinois so I miss the sea in particular.

52. I absolutely felt like that when I was there.
There are certainly beautiful places in the US, and this had been my family's home for hundreds of years, but there was a real indescribable sense of belonging I felt standing on those rocky shores. I know it sounds silly, but I do think that the land you are from is a part of you, in your blood. I don't know that I've ever felt as "home" as I did in Ireland and Scotland. I know that sounds woo, but... it was an amazing feeling.

Damnit! I had a nice bottle of Glenmorangie single malt around here, but I polished it off last week. Tonight would be a *terrific* night to indulge in the water of life! Guess I'll just have to settle for this cheap supermarket wine. Ah well, c'est la vie...

Speaking of Scotland, have you ever had Fraoch Scottish heather ale? That is some tasty stuff.

37. I would have gone to bed a couple of hours ago,
but some of my (desperately in need of repair) teeth started aching. Those are the ones on the waiting list after the other similar repairs in there ;)

So, I did a little research on the media player I bought before my NZ trip and found the following:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWPCvzk_Lhw&feature=related

I decided to hook up my Sennheiser HDR 110s (cordless) and the sound quality is even more amazing than I realized! :D I'll have to find a decent set of Sennheisers with a cord or bluetooth to hook up to this thing. And if you've never seen an OLED (organic-LED) it simply does not compare to anything else on the market. I've shown this to other people, ones that have seen things like the iTouch and so forth and now they want a Cowon S9, too
