Can you tell me what bird sings this song?

1. Sounds like a finch to me.

Probably a purple finch. Yellow finches use a LOT more notes!

The song I heard consisted of only the notes above, in a pure thin voice. After reading a bit, I'm wondering if it may have been a starling mimicking another bird...

6. My best guess is White Throated Sparrow

It doesn't sound exactly the same, but individual sparrows can sort of "do their own thing."

7. The tone is really similar to the white throat

The tempo was slightly slower, and the bird sang the notes I wrote out verbatum, including the pitch but with a longer space than a quarter rest between the 1st and second parts of the call...as if he was questioning and answering himself.
