1. Charles, an old friend (and mentor) of mine was -IN- that movie.

And through him, I got to know Steve Yeager,
the guy who made the awesome John Waters documentary, "Divine Trash".

Yeah, it's an awesome flick, innit?

7. He's only on screen for about 5 seconds; I don't think his character even had a name.

In the credits, he's listed as something like "Plainclothes Cop".
Anyway, in the scene where the cops burst in to arrest Divine,
he's the one in the leisure suit who announces the charges against her.

His name is David Kline, and he's a GREAT artist/woodworker.
He got me my job with Frank Kalista (amazing job, amazing guy)
and introduced me around to some of the top folks in the Baltimore Art scene.

It was a very special time in my life. A lot of good memories there.

3. I saw it in the movie theater

when it first came out, complete with "scratch and sniff" Odorama pads!

Absolutely priceless!

5. I did for a while, but then it lost its smells

I was just remembering how the signal would start flashing to scratch the next smell, and after the first couple of scratches you'd get all nervous, never knowing whether the smell would be pizza or rotting sneakers.

i was in college when the original came out.
