Some birds built a nest near our front door under the eaves. Yesterday there was a dead chick on the porch under the nest and no bird activity. Today I cleaned up the porch and thinking the birds were done with the nest, knocked it down with a broom. It was then I noticed that there were still three live chicks in the nest. Then suddenly there are two birds frantically tweeting in the tree.

I felt terrible.

My wife came out and gingerly picked up the nest and put it in a protected area under a bush. The parents have stayed nearby and looked the situation over as best I can tell. Hopefully the situation will resolve itself.

OK, actually Bush should feel much worse.
