And he wrote the music and the lyrics, I believe. Had tears streaming down cheeks listening to him -- just amazing! Loved him!

And moved from Minsk with his parents when he was 5 or something?

4. yeah.
His family is originally from Belarus. And the victory is enhanced by the fact that tomorrow (today!) is Norway's Constitution Day. 17th of May is the the anniversary of the signing of the Norwegian constitution, which is celebrated with children's parades and waving of flags.
