I killed a skunk last night

Not on purpose. I was putting my plane up and somehow the little bastard got trapped between the hangar doors when I was closing them. I suspect it mistook the area in between as a place to hide. I started smelling it first and then I saw it. I got out of there as soon as I could and I wasn't sure if it was hurt or not. It was making squeaking noises and smelling so bad I thought I was going to hurl. You have no idea how badly a skunk can smell unless you've been up close and personal with one. I went by this morning to check on it and found it dead at the same spot. I suspect it was trapped under the wheels of the door. I feel really badly because I'm sure it was in pain last night before it died, but there was nothing I could have done. I called animal control and they are supposed to meet me out there sometime and remove it.

I have no reason to suspect it was rabid. It was probably just looking for a good place to nest.

5. You have no idea how it stinks

My clothes stank of skunk last night when I got home and I was never closer than 15' away from it. My truck still stinks just from being downwind. My entire hangar smells so bad you can't stand to stay in there for very long.
