I'm here from GA to see the ceremony. I'm in a hotel room in somewhere called Fife at the moment. By the light of day it doesn't look to be the most pleasant of areas...but oh well. ;-)

She majored in Biology and Environmental Science.

She did her Fall Semester/Junior year in Tanzania and interned for a summer in Alaska.

Here's a pic of her and her boyfriend.

3. Actually. She amazingly fantastically did most of it on her own.
Lots of scholarships and work/study and the like.

The little bit she did need help with here and there was hardly anything at all.

But my soon to be ex (not her Dad) would always give me a hard time about that...even the couple hundred dollars to get her home for the Winter Holidays every year.

One of the numerous reasons he is now my ex-husband. Well not officially ex yet...but we're working on that.

2. Excellent!
That's a great achievement and she sounds like she's starting life on the right foot.

I dropped out of college after two years because my head was messed up. If there is one thing I could have for myself right now it would be a college degree. I was majoring in the same thing as your daughter.

4. I hope you meet that goal sometime soon.
I know it's hard to go pick up studies again, but you'd have a support group here. :grouphug:

6. Thank you
I'm going to get that degree. I might have to wait until I retire, but I'm going to get it. :D

8. Yay! Congrats to her!
What a great thing.

(Ew, Fife...sorry to hear about that. Maybe head north a bit and take a ferry somewhere or visit Pike Place if you have the time...? It's a really nice day for doing the tourist thing!)

14. If you want some incredible barbecue, check out The Warthog in Fife.
Best barbecue ev-AR! Not open on Sundays, though. Try tomorrow.

Congrats to your daughter! :applause:
