2. Primarily Linux, but other was most appropriate. Although, I suppose
it would depend upon the interpretation of 'using' and 'right now'. I'm typing this in Linux, but I'm doing some coding on an Oberon machine and I have an Atari 8-bit running a game too.

6. Oh, right NOW - actually, I'm typing on a Vista laptop but checking news on a Mac Mini (OS X).
I've also got work sitting on the Mac OS 9 laptop which I'm reluctantly going to have to return to after this post.

4. I'm really enjoying Windows7
And don't mind that I've essentially committed myself to buying the Ultimate version upon release.

10. When XP came out I'd have Quake3, 3DS Max, Photoshop and winamp all running
This was unheard of with 98. That much graphics power required was an instead BSOD

12. 98 was crap. 98 SE(special edition), however, was the most stable until XP SP2. :)
BIIIIG difference between 98 and 98 SE. 98 was, like Vista, released before they'd ironed the bugs out. So the second release, 98 SE, was with most of the bugs fixed. :)

I had a system running 98 SE until the hardware on that system died.

17. So many distros, so little time
It looks like what I've done to ubuntu. I got rid of one of the panels, keeping just the bottom one. Collapsed the three menus (aps, places, system) into the 'main menu.' I know Mint is more than just a theme but I do appreciate a clean desktop:
