Police: Pittsburgh student, 17, to be charged for using biology class snake as jump rope

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Pittsburgh police say a high school student is facing charges for using a biology class snake as a jump rope.

Police say the incident happened Monday at Taylor Allderdice (ahl-DER'-dys) High School.

Police aren't identifying the 17-year-old suspect because he's being charged in juvenile court. The boy will be charged with theft and cruelty to animals.

The animal survived the ordeal and was being examined by a veterinarian.

Pittsburgh Public School officials on Tuesday were not immediately able to say what kind of snake it was.

2. The person who wrote this article should be fired.

NO! That's NOT why they aren't identifying him you fucking asshole, they aren't identifying him because he's a minor. Do us all a favor and leave the journalism business.

3. No, the bad journalist has it right.
But it could be phrased better. Something along the lines of, "Minors' identities are not normally released by the courts unless they are being charged as adults."

Just google juvenile tried as an adult for the ad infinitum. Warning: you may throw up.
