One year ago today, my step-father, Ed, passed on.

We didn't always get along.
In fact, we rarely did.
Sometimes I hated him. I'm sure sometimes he hated me.
He slowly wasted away from muscular dystrophy. I took him on an outing in better days, back in '05, to see Batman Begins.
He was a huge fan of comic books. He thought 'Batman Begins' was fantastic. I took him to a cigar store, too. He loved cigars.
In November of 2005, he had a seizure, the cause of which was never determined. He never recovered. He spent the rest of his life (for the most part) in a vegetative state.
And then last May...he was gone.
I wish he could've been around to see 'The Dark Knight' and Heath Ledger's performance. I went by myself. I would've brought him with me in a heartbeat. I wish he could've been around to see "Iron Man"...he would've loved it.
I miss him...
I hope he's at peace.

I have a friend with MD. She does well and refuses to be considered handicapped.
