17. Uh... What were we talking about?
I just can't get into superhero cartoons anymore. I've tried a bunch of times, even with the recent stuff, but they just don't do it for me. Maybe back when I was reading comics, but no longer.

I don't have much of a taste for the stuff that's heavily manga-influenced. All of those wide, square jaws sort of bother me after a while.

3. Green Lantern's powers are too big for a movie.
He can do about anything with that ring. It wouldn't make for an interesting movie.

I think they need to make a super villain movie. Something that gives his point of view and plays around with moral ambiguity.

32. Well in the comics it's about to be (warning GL comic spoilers)
The Black Lanterns! The ring is currently corrupted in the comics universe and has led to yellow lanterns - which we knew of with Sinestro, Red Lanterns who have an uncontrollable rage, and within the next month or so - Black Lanterns - reanimated corpses of fallen superheros and villans. I know who the first 3 black lanterns are, but I won't spoil that. The Green Lantern comics are among the best out there right now IMO.

Yeah I dunno exactly how they'd pull it off or what the story would be, but Geoff Johns churns out some killer ones in the comics. :)

16. The DC Animated Wonder Woman DVD that came out a couple months ago is awesome
So PG-13 it almost ended up being rated R. A seriously badass movie - maybe their best animated movie to date - although Justice League: New Frontier was damn good too.

19. I'd love to see both of those
either in live action - or probably preferably in the new DC Animated straight to video DVD's they've been putting out lately. Being able to shoot for a PG-13 rating has really opened up their ablility to tell great stories with as little censorship as possible. That martian invasion story by Morrison called New World Order (surprise surprise) was indeed great. And i'll read/watch anything written by the super-talented Geoff Johns. :)

23. Grant Morrison's - The Invisibles
An awesome read - check it out cause there prolly will never be a movie but damn if those comics weren't excellent.

"It was with The Invisibles, a work in three volumes, that Morrison would start his largest and possibly most important<4> work. The Invisibles combined political, pop- and sub-cultural references. Tapping into pre-millennial tension, the work was influenced by the writings of Robert Anton Wilson, Aleister Crowley and William Burroughs and Morrison's practice of chaos magic.<5> At DisinfoCon in 1999, Morrison said that much of the content in The Invisibles was information given to him by aliens that abducted him in Kathmandu, who told him to spread this information to the world via a comic book. He later clarified that the experience he labeled as the "Alien Abduction Experience in Kathmandu" had nothing to do with aliens or abduction, but that there was an experience that he had in Kathmandu that The Invisibles is an attempt to explain.<6>"

63. What's really interesting is that back in the 90s (I think)
when they were just starting to make films out of any comic they could think of, a script was done up for Reid Fleming, with James Belushi in the title role :)

Here's a little more about that, from The Comics Journal #219 (January 2000), pp. 102-106

Life of Boswell

As for the Reid Fleming movie, it has now been languishing in turnaround for at least a decade. Although studio executives appeared to be quite happy with the cartoonist's script - "At least 85% of it made the cut," this former film student reminisced, "and nobody asked for a re-write, which is pretty good by Hollywood standards" - the scenario remains unproduced. A number of actors, including Jon Lovitz, would still like to portray Reid, but nothing has come of their enthusiasm thus far. John Belushi, arguably the greatest potential kamikaze milkchucker of them all, died before he could consider the script, but his more restrained brother Jim is still eager to slip into Reid's Owl's Roost Rye-stained shoes. Boswell's personal preference was for "the Bob Hoskins of 10-15 years ago, but, sadly, in those days, Hoskins wouldn't even look at a script unless someone put a millon dollars on the table first."

End result: Limboland. Reid Fleming is still waiting for some energetic producer or director to pluck him from the ether and thrust him into the black-and-white blankness of a standard ratio film. Far from lusting after an A-list superproduction, Boswell would have preferred to see his movie made like a Depression-era Warner Brothers' picture, "where they chopped off the first and last frame of every scene, just to make things tighter."
