Can you be depressed for no reason? |
|
Just today I started to feel all sullen and full of self pity. I don't normally feel unhappy. Nothing is seemingly unusual.
Hm. Bummer.

1. We all have our off days |
|
I guess if we can feel happiness for no apparent reason, we should also have the ability to feel down for no reason too.
It's times like this that writing helps me.

Just ask anyone who has ever had a mood disorder like clinical depression or bipolar disorder. Sometimes, it just happens.

It's fucking weird, sister. I feel totally invisible and worthless. Which isn't like me. And I'm not fishing for compliments to necessarily make myself feel better, y'know. I just feel down.

10. I have had that myself. It sucks. Sometimes it just takes a little |
|
time. There are things you can do to help yourself a little. It is amazing what a little exercise can do for you. Take a walk or something. It can make you feel better.

Goin' to the seance--can I bring you back anything? Some reassurance from the other side, perhaps? :P

12. There's always a reason for depression. |

Sometimes it's life events. Sometimes you can be absolutely depressed when everything in life is going great.
If it's just the one day then maybe you could say it's just "one of those days" ... but if it goes on then get checked out by appropriate medical professionals.
I *do* have a mood disorder and I do get depressed and suicidal "for no reason". Meds and therapy help me out.
Hope you feel better soon. Depression is no joke. It's OK to feel sad once in a while though.

If you've got plenty to be depressed about, how do you tell if it's clinical?
