Should I stay indoors or go outside to hear it best?

4. When I was a youngster in Oklahoma City,
sonic booms were commonplace. I thought they were due to the proximity of Tinker Air Force Base, but turns out it was the gummint doing experiments on us.

Sorry you missed your Boom Window.

5. Same here
All the time. The Convair F-102A Delta Dagger was the usual culprit.

in East Hartford, CT, home of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, though I can't say for sure whether Pratt & Whitney had any direct involvment, although it seems logical. Always enjoyed them. If I heard one I would have liked ten more to follow.

When our county voted for Goldwater over LBJ, the old fart closed our air force base. That was the end of the sonic booms.
