Does anyone else use AOL for email? Has it been wonky for you the past two days?

1. I've been weaning myself off of AOL for over six months |
|
I'm STILL getting old contacts checking in. I've had the account since like version 1.2 or something.
I don't expect it to be around much longer.
My wife had an educational web site we hosted on AOL for almost 9 years. With NO WARNING AT ALL, they eliminated all of the web sites on October 31st of last year. That pissed me off, but it also was a warning.
You can get a domain with free e-mail for $10 per year at GoDaddy. I would advise you to abandon AOL as soon as possible. I'm closing my account in a couple of weeks. I think I've given people long enough to find me and I guess they can use Facebook now.

I've got old e-mails I kind of want to keep. You mean they're all of a sudden going to disappear?
I got a Gmail account but I can't get used to those conversation-based -- not calendar-based -- threads.

4. I actually prefer "conversation view" |
|
It's similar to a message board.

5. Both are fine, but there are times when I need the chronology and time-line |
|
I wish I could get Google to switch between the standard Google conversation-based setup, and a view that would allow you to see all incoming messages as stand-alone entries in the inbox.
My only objection is that it's too easy to miss a message reply when it comes in "late" or a few weeks later. Which is not what I want to happen if it's something job-related. Then I need to be able to see each e-mail as a discrete, separate component of a longer list.
