Anyone else ever watched the documentary 'Jesus Camp'?
If you haven't it starts off the kid's parent teaching him global warming is a hoax among other things. She quizzed him "Because we had a few warmer summers recently, it's because it is global warming. What is wrong with this thinking?" :eyes: I'm pretty sure global warming theory is more complex then the evidence of a few warmer summers.

Anyways the preacher or whatever she called the kids hypocrites based on the assumption they try to be like their friends and use foul language. She also went after Harry Potter, saying "warlocks are not heroes!" Then went on to say if Harry Potter was around in the old testament he would've been put to death. Then a loud applause and cheering ensues. Then she goes on giving this scary preach causing many of the children to cry. Later on that night the kids were telling ghost stories, looked they were having fun then the guy comes in and lectures "Ghost stories are fun but they may not be from the lord"

Anyways a following day they bring a cardboard Bush Jr and ask the children to give him there blessings. Anyways overall it is a very scary reality. Many of these kids seem to me being used to advocate for various political issues because it wasn't really a church camp it was a conservative christian fundamentalist camp. I swear at one point the woman preacher was talking to a bunch of pre-teens advocating them to go to "war".

Anyways have anyone else seen it? Thoughts? I just watched it myself on A&E trust me nearly nothing was on TV so I did watch it.

4. I wouldn't know because I never read or watched Harry Potter
I did find it strange she was advocating the death penalty for a fictional character.

10. It only got worse
Later it featured on the pony tail kid attending a Ted Haggart sermon, the docu must be a few years old. He also attended an anti-choice rally near a clinic and it ended with the preacher in her car listening to a talk radio host giving several "truth" sentences such as "Majority of americans are conservative." "Liberalism is dead.", etc. I was thinking 'Yeah, in what planet?'

11. Cheering executions AND worshiping a graven image of Bush?
All while denying global warming and, presumably, the Holocaust. Go figure. True multi-taskers.

Fucking death-cultists.

12. That was the most bizarre scene
Edited on Sun May-24-09 04:24 PM by JonLP24
They brung out the Bush Jr Carboard image and then stretched out the American flag behind it and called the children to put their hands on the cardboard and pray & give blessings to it.

edited to add: The preacher was repeatedly saying 'he came to visit us.'

15. Terrified me to the core
Levi's hairstyle has the comedic-horror effect of Norman Bates' schizophrenia.

When he says "Whenever I come across a non-Christian, I just feel dirty" I feel like throwing my TV set across the house.
