Good morning Lounge
How are you today? Did you miss me? :D

Well, I had a great weekend with my mom. Thursday we went to a zoo (pictures will follow later), Friday we were invited to a BBQ, Saturday we went hiking in the Lower Vosges Mountains (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vosges_Mountains). And yesterday I visited a friend in the afternoon before catching my train home. Of course the train arrived at a time so that I had no chance whatsoever to catch my underground train. I was too tired to wait 20 min for the next underground so I decided to take a taxi. Not that I went to sleep right away. Nope. I think I went to bed around 2am. Therefore I am a tiny bit tired today. And I got me a sunburn during the hike on Saturday. I have a funny pattern on my back now :)

:hi: :loveya:

I had a great time. It was both relaxing and interesting. We didn't just sit around and did nothing but enjoyed the nature near where my mom lives.

I might start an extra thread with pics of the hiking trip. What do you think?

Weather has been absolutely stunning; usually, it pours down rain over the Memorial Day weekend, but not this year!

It's Droopy. I did a name change while you were gone. "Tobin" is my real name.

I've had a nice weekend. I still have one more day to take it easy. It's a holiday here in the U.S. I went to a barbeque yesterday with some family and friends. The rest of the time I've just been taking it easy. Mom and I are going for a hike later this morning. I'll see about taking some pictures and posting them here as well.

I wish I could know her as a friend outside of her profession. She is a very kind and fun person to be around. And it's for real; she's not just doing her job. I gave her the credit for getting me to do something about my health even though she said it was all my doing :). She really did get me to see that I wasn't happy with myself and being 120 pounds overweight wasn't helping matters. I just picked the place to go help take the weight off.

But if you do a simple search and take a look at some of my old posts as Droopy from a few days back you will see that it's me. One person recognized me just from my writing style even though she did not know about the name change. assuming the other guy comes back from Mexico as planned.

Then he will work for me in a week or so, which will enable me to go fly to my parents in NC and hopefully be there for my mom's 83rd birthday. So I'll have 6 days off when that happens and THAT will be nice.

(I hope I got those days right, lol!)

I remember that there was an International House in Charlotte and there we had a German Hour each week. There were German and Austrian nannies, German exchange students, Americans who spoke German ... it was a mixed group. Did some trips with them. Great times.

39. Hi Miss H it's me again.

There's a question that I wanted to ask you for a while.

I don't know if you remember but a couple of months

ago I posted a reply in German by using the Babelfish translator

and when I type Honey church(with a space between the 2 words) the

answer is a single word: Honigkirche. Can you explain the

meaning of that word to me please ? Well if it's ok with you

of course. :)

42. It is easy to answer
Miss Honeychurch is a name in a book by E.M. Forster "Room with a View". It is also a movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091867/ I love the book and the movie. Miss Honeychurch is the main character. That is why I chose this name. It really has no meaning whatsoever in German.

50. Honigkirche is meaningless in German ?

Well Babelfish isn't exactly reliable when it comes to translate.

I remember a thread where peoples where using it to post in

French and I was ROFL ! That was hysterical !

You're a big reader isn't it ? Sometimes I wonder if the

peoples who never open a book realize what they are missing.

I read a lot and have been TV-free for over 5 years now and

don't miss it at all.

OMG,it's almost 7:30 ! Good night MissHoneychurch,

you are a very good person. :pals:

52. Well
Honey does mean Honig and Church means Kirche. Babelfish is correct there. But together they don't really make any sense in German or English. Forster did pick a nice name though for his heroine :)

Yes, I love to read. I have to be really really sick to not to read.
Last night, instead of turning off the light at 1am I continued to read my book .... guess who is tired this morning

I learn a lot due to my reading. I love to read novels and mysteries but also biographies and history books.

Sweet dreams jeff

64. I've missed you ~ my very first friend on DU.
I'm still with the load. I love it! At this point in time I'm guessing that I'll be driving escort as long as it's safe for me to be out there on the road.

Thus far we've traveled from Mass to Pa. I may jump off in West Memphis, Arkansas or escort it all of the way to the Texas-Mexico border.

73. There are bigger rigs on the road.
The other load that was shutdown at noon on Friday is 15' 9" tall. It won't fit under the bridge where it's being delivered until they bleed off air from the tires. I'm not ready for that responsibility ~ I don't feel like buying a bridge (you break it, you bought it) if my trucker's load hits it.

One of the perks of this job is we can't run on weekends so I might get the time to visit with my friends who live many miles from my home.

81. good afternoon!
:hi:

Looks like a beautiful hike! Glad you had a nice weekend with Mom.

I am just starting to get ready to head home. My flight is in a couple of hours....

It did not rain, but I didn't venture out either, so I can't really say much about the visit other than we had a great time....

Oh, and about that passport... so on Friday, Little MB's dad took her to get a new one. He called to tell me it was all set, and when I got home to grab my luggage, I opened that drawer (the one I told you about that I had to check - that I looked through like 10 times) and what do you think was staring up at me?:rofl:
