Baby Robins
The parents nested in a bird feeder about two and a half feet above ground located in a flower bed near the fence. Laid four eggs. The first hatched two weeks ago today. The last hatched two days later. The babies have been developing well. They are feathered and have begun chirpping and flapping their wings.

This morning the babies were scarred by the visiting dog on the neighbor's side of the fence. I saw them jump wings flapping. Only one of the babies remian in the nest. The others are gone - presumably hidden in the nearby fern and hosta foliage. Momma and Daddy robin remain nearby - watchful and protective.

Do these babies have a chance? Should I try to capture them and take them to a wildlife rehabilitator?

I thought they needed another week or so in the nest before they successfully fledged??????

1. If they had enough flight capability to gently drift to the ground and survive, the parents can ...
handle it on the ground. They'll take on a cat if they have to.

3. Yes they survived
the fall to the ground - and went looking for a hiding place. I'm not sure where they are. One sent toward the ferns. One went toward the altheas. The other? I'm not sure. And one remains in the nest.

No feral cats around here that I know of. But there is a red fox.

My two small dogs are kept inside. Guess they'll be leashed for the next several days when out.

4. They should be fine.
I wouldn't worry too much about the dogs. Robin parents are almost as aggressive as blue jay parents, the latter believing in "it takes a village" - all of the adults will gang up to protect any of the babies.

2. I would also vote to let nature take it's course.
I got these photos yesterday of a mother Chickadee bringing dinner for her family.
