She means "anecdotal." I say it's "sort of" a Freeperism because this is actually from the comment section of the website of the local paper. The original letter writer had a made reference to Natasha Richardson. The excerpt below is from one person's response:

"Antidotal, but I have a couple of Canadian friends who live here now but they say all their relatives if they get very seriously ill, i.e., cancer, etc., they would come to the USA for care, NOT Canada."
