I just got done seeing 'Up.' You all know how much I love 'Wall-E'.

Well, in my humble opinion, this was almost as good, if not every bit as good.
It was hilarious, very sad, and very touching.
It also features one of the funniest fight scenes I've ever seen...
I'm going to change my sig to include my favorite line from the movie.
Anyway, did you like it, if you saw it?

Starz has it on demand, and I have watched it three times this week. Of course I have to wait until Mr. Gut is not around. I might have to go see “Up” with a friend.

7. We just got back from "Up"

1, If Disney/Pixar had any decency, they'd hand out Kleenex with the 3-D glasses
2, At the end, the group behind us was arguing. One woman exclaimed that the film was "awful" - "it had a good story, but all the kids were bawling over the scene when the bird breaks its leg." I guess she hates "Bambi" and "Dumbo".
3, If you have the 2-D or 3-D choice, see it in 3-D
4, The "Toy Story 3" preview was awesome!
5, The short with the storks is hilarious.
6. "Squirrel!"
7, I hate crying in front of my children; it really screws with the "Dad" image. Also, I hate crying at movies, because at some point you realize you've been tricked -- you're shedding tears over something actors, directors, and cinematographers are doing as opposed to real, actual suffering. But what is worse than crying at just any movie, is crying at an animated movie. They're cartoon characters, for Chrysler sake. I can justify shedding tears at "Saving Private Ryan" or "Schindler's List", but a cartoon???!!!! So crying in front of my children at a cartoon is not a good day for me. My 11 year old will tell all her friends this, who will tell all the other Dads, and they will demand I turn over my Man card.
8, More responsible parenting. My 11 year old's last day of school was today, and she got straight 1s (like "A"s). So, I took her to happy hour. (Old Chicago has $3 personal pizzas and 1/2 price appetizers from 4-6)
9. (Only Bay Area people get this)- How cool was it when they went to Fentons????

I just LOVED the fight scene towards the end. First and perhaps only time dentures were ever used as a projectile weapon.

9. I think Pixar may be able to make a case for a "Best Picture" nomination

I doubt they'd win; the film has flaws. However, it also has an emotional depth and range that has not been seen in an animated film in a long time. Plummer and Asner seem to almost approach the material like characters in a Western, or a 50s-60s action film. Their dialogue was like John Huston versus Spencer Tracy -- it had that kind of feel to it.

12. If any animation company can pull off a "Best Picture", it's Pixar

Each film they release is at least as good as the last.
I'm looking forward to seeing this one as well... maybe this weekend, since it's LyricKid's birhday.

13. I saw this yesterday. A wonderful movie, see it in 3D if you can.

The animators worked with the 3D better than any movie made.

More important, the story is heartwarming although sad in a few parts. Has humor and moves very well. I highly recommend it to all.

I am impressed with the new 3D quality and a theater in our area does it on a huge screen. We usually wait for the DVD to come out, but some movies just have to be seen on the big screen.

Danger Mouse said this...and it is true.. You will enjoy seeing the fight scenes and the
air battle...that too is quite funny..Yet, the characterizations are again one of the strongest aspects of Pixar's work. The old guy, and his feelings, likes and eventual humor comes through.

Especially the feeling he has for his wife and their relationship is just about as real as can be.
I know that I will see it again.
