Color matching furniture
Three large black shedding mutts. Anything that didn't match, now does.

1. LOL I just told my husband yesterday that our next couch should be charcoal gray
to match our two gray and one black cats.

His comment: as soon as we do that, something will happen and we will end up with a white angora cat!

with house animals, you just can't win!

2. We've given up
All three of our cats are rescues, so we didn't really have a choice as to "what color we got". So we have two black cats and one orange and white tabby. And yes, the black cats sleep on the white throws and the orange and white cat sleeps on the darker fleece blankets on the bed. :(

4. Yep, a Murphy Critter Corollary.
Every time I'm in a clothing department and see anything made out of velour material, I cringe. Can't help myself.

And, it doesn't matter how much you brush them or bathe them during shedding season. Five minutes later, you have a patchwork quilt critter with batten extruding from their coat.

3. No, you can't.
It's a complete fluke that I have 3 black dogs. The next one may be white, brown, tri-color. You just never know. And, since the youngest is almost 4, it's time for another puppy.....

5. I bought a beige futon to match my cat.
It doesn't show the hair.

6. Well, if you have the animal before the furniture,
you can do that. If I start replacing everything they sit on in black, by the time I got it all replaced I'd probably have acquired a white dog. Karma is strange that way. Besides, even then, I'd have the problem that everytime I sat on or rubbed up against anything with shed fur on it, I'd still be plagued by black fur.

Nope. I think I hate the shedding season almost as much as mud season - you know, early spring when there is a lot of mud outside - and they track it all in the house. I'd have to get mud brown linoleum to go with my black furniture. And mud brown wainscotting so that if they brush up against a wall it doesn't show....

Nope, I think it's just easier to grumble, mop, and vaccuum - and remember to put the vaccuum away because they view it as a chew toy.

7. I used to try to match my clothes to my dogs.
For the longest time I had only sand/cream-colored dogs, so anytime I wore black, you could see their hair all over my clothes. So I'd try to wear light-colored outfits, at least for special occasions. Now I have a black dog too, and he sheds the most, so it's hopeless. The dusting of dog hair is decoration, IMO. :)

8. That is something I've never tried.
I just gave up long ago and stuck with jeans. The dog hair doesn't seem to stick as badly to denim. Thank God!
